Sydney...Perth...Canberra....Brisbane

Hello! Just a quick note to let you know how I went at the Sydney Track Classic on Saturday.. The conditions were PERFECT, nice and warm with a slight tail wind and the rain was no where to be seen! So straight away when everyone arrived we knew it was going to be a good night for all the athletes competing. I had my brand new New Balance competition uniform and spikes so I felt ready to run fast! Was very entertaining and innovative night of athletics with flame throwers around the track, the athletes wore their twitter handle names on their racing uniform, and jam packed events with star studded fields.

My race felt really good, I had a pretty good start and felt like I held my technique right till the end of the race where I came 2nd! I ran a huge PB of 23.54 which was .24 outside of the World Champs B Qualifying time for the 200m. Melissa Breen came 1st in the race and ran a super quick time of 23.12 which was .02 off the World Champs A Qualifying time. Earlier on in the night she ran the 100m and ran an A qualifying time for World Champs too which was very inspiring.

Image I am so excited to have run such a quick time which now ranks me 3rd in Australia over the 200m this year. The race video is here for anyone wanting to watch! I am in lane 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN8SEktcG9Y

This weekend I am off to Perth to run at the Perth Track Classic over the 400m. I am a little nervous yet very keen to get over there. Having run a fast PB over the 200m, I am hoping that will help develop my 400m speed and get me under the 53 second barrier! I will post live stream details closer to the date for you all.. Then I am jetted off to Canberra for a National Relay Camp at the AIS where the Australian 400m relay team will get together to train and get to know each other better. We then fly to Brisbane together to run a 4x400m relay at the Queensland Track Classic, with the hopes of running a qualifying time of 3mins and 33 seconds for the World Championships.

Big few weeks ahead! But hopefully a few successful weeks too! Thanks for all your positive feedback and lovely comments, I very much enjoy reading them.

Bye for now. A xx
