Newcastle

Hello!! I've had a pretty good week with my training, getting stuck into some really tough sessions! Also this weekend I competed in the Hunter Winter Track Competition in a 400m and 200m. I ran against Pirenee Steinart again, as she is trying to get a Commonwealth Games A Qualifier. This 400m felt alot better than last weekend in QLD. Once again there was a really strong headwind for the first 200m, but I came home strong to come 2nd in a time of 54.6...A small improvement on last week in my time, but I definitely ran a better race here than up in the Gold Coast. Pirenee did a 53.8 so I'm slowly catching up to her which is a good sign!

I then backed up to run a 200m half an hour later...this was the highlight of my trip as I ran a PB! My original best time was 24.7, and I ran a 24.1 which was very exciting. I did a few good sprint sessions during the week so I knew I was running pretty quick - I just didn't think that quick! This is definitely a good sign for me heading into Moncton, because speed is very important to run a good 400m.

Apart from that, not much has changed...Uni is finished for the semester, so I'm just studying for my 2 exams before I head off to Canada.

25 days till liftoff and 36 days until my 400m heat!! Not long now!
